LHS Outdoor Shuffleboard
* Played every Wednesday at 5PM from mid April until late June
* Teams made up of 2 people
* 2026 we have 24 teams for the 12 courts
* We follow the basic rules below except instead of 10 points off, we award 5 points to the other team.
Basic Rules of Outdoor Shuffleboard
Outdoor shuffleboard is a game where two players (or teams) use cues to push 4 yellow or 4 black discs (biscuits) into a far scoring triangle. The goal is to reach 75 points first by landing discs in scoring zones, and knocking opponent discs away. Discs must be within the lines to score; on-the-line discs do not count.
Key Rules for Beginners:
* Setup: The court is 52 feet long, with a 10-off zone at the base of the triangle.
* Play: Players start in the "kitchen" (10-off area) and shoot to the opposite triangle, alternating colors.
* The Turn: Players alternate turns, with yellow going first. All 8 discs are shot in one round (frame)
* Scoring: Only count points after all 8 discs are shot. If a disc touches the boundary lines of a scoring area, it doesn't count.
* Negative Points: Any disc landing in the "10-off" zone results in 10 points deducted from your score.
* Fouls: Discs not passing the "dead line" (second line) are removed. A disc that goes off the side of the court is removed.
* Winning: The first player/team to 75 points wins, usually after 8 frames.
